Click the link below to download your free ‘Seasonality Chart’ and take it with you when you next go shopping. Besides being the freshest and tastiest fruit and vegetables, why should you buy your produce in season?
Well when you buy what’s in season, your buying food that’s at the peak of its supply, and costs less to farmers and distribution companies to harvest and get to your grocery store. Therefore you can save lots when you go on your next big shop.
(1 tick means it’s coming into season, 2 ticks means it’s at it’s peak)
Also it’s a fantastic way to broaden your palette by trying new fruits, vegetables and herbs that are in season and won’t cost you a crazy amount to try. Every big shop I consult the list and see what’s in season that we haven’t had before. Recently I’ve been introducing and trying aubergine, brussels sprouts and broad beans.
