Back in May I posted about my money-saving lunchbox on my Instagram (Click here!) and it had such an amazing positive response that I thought I would write it up in a post for those who don’t follow me on Instagram (which you should as I daily post frugal lifestyle tips!)
My lunchbox has saved me so much money over the last 6 months that I just have to share it with you.
It’s not a traditional lunchbox in that it doesn’t cover my lunch for one day but rather it covers that craving we all get when we are out for work (or fun!) and you just want to run and grab a coffee or a snack to keep you going until you get home.
In my lunchbox I keep a plethora of snacks and sachets that save me reaching for my purse every day.
All you need to create your own is a lunchbox, a thermos and a water bottle. It also helps if you have a kettle at work although sometimes I can charm my way to get some boiling water in a cup from a cafe. These things combined with your lunchbox ingredients will set you up!
What Do I Keep in My Lunchbox?
I rotate around what I feel like eating so it doesn’t get bland but below is a low-calorie list of things you can include in your lunchbox:
- 100 cal bag of nuts
- 100 cal bag of dried fruit
- Low cal hot chocolate sachets
- Flavoured water sachets
- Miso soups
- Oxo cubes
- Tea bags
- Green tea bags
- Coffee sachets
Although they won’t fill you up, for organisation purposes, I also keep:
- Green tea tablets
- Cold and flu remedy sachets
Setting yourself up with a lunchbox like this may just stop you eating some calories you don’t need or spending money you shouldn’t spend!
