Do you get frustrated giving and getting the same types of gifts this year? As a woman especially there seems to be an array of gifts available on the high street designed to fill that sweet spot between needing to buy a gift but not at all knowing what they like. Examples include wine, bath bomb sets, moisturiser and fluffy socks. I say rather than gifs (that will live in a cupboard in the bathroom), we stand up and actually give gift cards that will give the receiver experiences. Do you agree?
However, I understand that this can often be hard on a budget. So say no more, I’ve rounded up over 30 gift cards, all around £5 – £35 and all available up and down the UK.
Dining Out Gift Cards
Tastecard – for a currently discounted price of £34.99, give the gift of a 12-month membership to tastecard which includes 2 for 1 meals or 50% off the bill, up to 40% off some cinemas and up to 55% off some days out. Side note – I LOVE my tastecard and would be thrilled to have one as a gift.
Gourmet Society – Similar to the above but often with different offers. It’s the same price for also 12 months and exclusive offers at some cinema’s and other ‘offers’.
The Restaurant Choice – The Restaurant Choice gift cards can be spent in a selection of chain dining chains across the UK including Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Yo!Sushi, Café Rouge, Ask Italian, Zizzi, Jamie’s Italian, Byron Burger, Pizza Hut Restaurants and The Real Greek. It cannot be redeemed online but makes a great gift card for a couple who you want to treat to a date night. Prices from £10 – £100.
The Great British Pub Card – The Great British Pub Card can be redeemed in over 1,700 pubs across the UK, including Chef & Brewer pubs, Fayre & Square Pubs and Flaming Grill pubs.
Cinema Gift Cards

Odeon – Unfortunately these cannot be purchased in store but you can pick them up in most supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Co-Op, WH Smith, Asda, Boots, Wilko, Clintons, HMV and Game).
Cineworld – You can buy gift-cards online to come in the post (£1.50 – £7.00 delivery options) from £10 – £100 that can be redeemed online or in the cinema to purchase tickets, snacks or an Unlimited Card. If you buy the e-voucher, it can only be redeemed online but has no delivery charge!

All of which can be redeemed from the 26th December 2018 and is valid for 6 months.

Love2Shop – I’ve received these cards in the past and can honestly say they are a picky persons dream. Redeemable in over 20,000 stores, restaurants and attractions, the lucky recipient will have plenty of choice when deciding where to spend their vouchers. You can see the full list of where they are redeemable here.
An of course you can select a specific shop that someone will like but maybe not always treat themselves to. Such as Paperchase.

Railcards – I am a big lover of railcards and I can’t wait to get the new 26 – 30 railcard when it launches this year. Railcards as standard cost £30 and get you usually 1/3rd of all your travel. That’s 1 £90 journey and the card has paid for itself.
Oyster Card – If you have a friend who lives in London, why not load up an oyster card? These days most people use contactless but might make a fitting gift for someone who visits London often or lives there.
And of course many airlines offer travel vouchers but I find you’re then locked in. It’s worth doing for someone who has a big trip coming up and you know who they’re intending to fly with though.

Coffee Gift Cards
Why not load up a gift card for their favourite retailer? They all have different terms so make sure to read the fine print before ordering.
The WishCard is for www.thegiftcardcentre.co.uk and can be redeemed against ANY card in arsenal. It’s an amazing concept and one I’m going to use if I’m a little stuck for ideas this Christmas.
Oxfam Unwrapped – When someone says they really don’t want anything for Christmas, why not spend the money anyway and put to a good cause? With Oxfam Unwrapped you can surprise your loved one with a goat, a chicken or even a pineapple and you’ll help people around the world beat poverty.
