SLIM by SlimLine wine is a new low-calorie wine you can enjoy and still drop the pounds. Due to the stigma of ‘low-calorie alcohol’ I thought I would review for you to dispel some of them myths.
I am not a huge drinker partly because of the cost, partly cause of the calories and partly just cause it’s not for me. But on the times I do drink, my drink of choice is a white wine spritzer (with diet lemonade), there’s just something elegant, sweet and delicious about it. I actually get annoyed that I have to allocate a (large) portion of my days calories to alcohol if I’m having a night out so I’m delighted to try SlimLine Wine.
My Mum and I are both on a healthy journey of improvement at the moment so for Mothers Day this year, I took a bottle to her house so we could enjoy some guilt free drinking! After the usual Mother’s Day celebrations we cracked open a bottle, excited to try this magic wine.
We were so excited to try it, we actually tried some pre-chilled. It was lovely but it was SO much better once we had chilled it for an hour. I’m no expert but I can’t stand the taste of cheap drinks and this tasted lovely to me. There’s not a part of this drink that feel’s like a ‘diet’ wine as it smells lovely, tastes lovely and I would bet money that on a blind test, people would not be able to tell the difference with a ‘normal’ wine.
After we opened up a bottle we sat by the roaring fire we had just cooked jacket potatoes under and went through the infamous box of baby pictures (every Mum’s got a box somewhere!). It was the perfect end to a perfect day with my Mum.
So how diet is this drink? In my experience, a bottle of wine can range from 550 cals per standard 75cl bottle to 700 cals. This bottle was only 412 meaning sharing the bottle only put approx 206cals in my body! Considering I’m eating approx 1200-1300 a day thats a much smaller dent than normal wine. Also, as I drink spritzers with diet lemonade, that around 4 classes of guilt-free drinking.
So, as you know, saving is important to me so let’s look at cost. A lot of companies who are offering a ‘healthy’ product would drive the prices up so I was worried this wine would be out of my price range. However the bottle I tried was only £8.99 per bottle – not bad at all!
Overall I do recommend this product to people who are on a calorie based diet under 1500 as shaving off calories where you can will only help you get to your goals faster! Let me know in the comments if you tried this new and brilliant bottle.
